Two Streams
to Participate

The OVIN Demonstration Zone offers two streams to help startups to small and medium sized businesses (SMEs) showcase their innovative smart mobility solutions in an operational urban environment.

This stream of applications is a broad invitation to all mobility tech companies with innovative transportation and smart mobility solutions. If you have a product or service that is ready for a real-world demonstration, we want to hear from you. Showcase your technology and collaborate with us to shape the future.  

Applications are currently welcome on a rolling basis until December 2, 2024.

Applicants are required to apply with the preference to demonstration in the City of Markham or the City of Vaughan. Learn more about what we offer.

Innovators applying through this stream will need to meet at least one of the following objectives:

  • Create Resilient Transportation Infrastructure​

  • Maximize Value from Transportation Infrastructure​

  • Support Sustainable Goods Movement​

  • Investigate Future Mobility​

  • Collect and Leverage Data

Through the OVIN Demonstration Zone's Challenge Call stream, the Cities of Markham and Vaughan developed specific transportation and mobility challenges and are seeking companies to propose innovative solutions to these challenges!

Review committee evaluates applications based on criteria including: uniqueness, complexity, feasibility, alignment with transportation objectives, availability resources, etc.

OVIN Demonstration Zone works with applications to develop detailed scope of work, applicants execute on agreement, advisory committee overlooks project demonstration.

Demonstration participants complete demonstration testing in a selected time frame and location with a technical advisory team.

Participants submit report materials and transfer data from the project advisory committee evaluates outcomes of demonstrations, learnings & share reports to stakeholders and project partners.

How to Apply

Companies are invited to submit their innovative automotive and smart mobility technologies by completing our online application form. Only one submission per applicant will be accepted.

Applications are welcomed on a rolling basis from until December 2, 2024. Our Review Team will evaluate your eligibility for a demonstration project within 2-4 months.
